You are here
Kia ora koutou,
I am promoting the next round of Arthritis New Zealand community education sessions from the 18 – 21 May. We are in the midst of a gout awareness campaign, so this visit is all about gout! I would really appreciate your support to get the word out about these free events – tell your family, friends, customers, clients, patients and colleagues! All of the details are in the attached fliers. We also have lots of other interesting things happening, including potential for water-based exercise classes, a new arthritis support group, and a fundraising opportunity with Z Havelock North and ‘Good in the hood’. More details below.

Water-based exercise volunteers
We are in the process of arranging water-based exercise classes for people with arthritis in Hastings, but in order to run a successful programme we will need a dedicated group of volunteers who can help with coordination/administration, and leading the classes. If you are interested please have a look at the job description on Volunteer Hawke’s Bay’s website: admin role http://www.volunteeringhb.org.nz/jobs/index.htm?job=640 and exercise leader role http://www.volunteeringhb.org.nz/jobs/index.htm?job=641 or contact our regional coordinator Maggie Lovekin-Pitman on 0800 663 463 or [email protected].
New arthritis support group
We have two wonderful volunteers who are in the process of starting a local arthritis support group in Hawke’s Bay. Their names are Claire Hatfield and Rebecca Houlton. If you are interested in being a part of this group, please send Rebecca an email to find out more on [email protected]
Z ‘Good in the hood’ – please visit the Havelock North Z petrol station in May!
From 1 May to 30 May 2015 you can help Arthritis New Zealand by purchasing petrol and other items from the Havelock North Z service station. For every purchase, you will be given a token and can vote for us by placing the token in the Arthritis New Zealand slot, so that we get a donation from Z. This will go a long way towards continuing services in the local community! Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Zoe Pullman (née McGavock)
